NZPUCommuniqué - A new Principal for LAC - 8 June 2023

A NEW PRINCIPAL FOR LAC

Ms Ros Burnett was appointed by the Longburn Adventist College Board as Principal last week. She is the first female principal of Longburn’s 114-year history. Ros is originally from Whanganui and attended Avondale College (now Avondale University) to complete her teaching degree. She taught in private and state schools before commencing church employment at ASDAH in 1997. As Assistant Principal at ASDAH from 2010 to 2016, then Deputy Principal at LAC.

She always wanted to be a primary teacher but was inspired by her biology teacher to become a secondary teacher combining her passion for music as her specialty area. This leadership opportunity humbles her, but she is inspired to see the students of LAC grow in Jesus so that they will positively impact their communities.

Longburn Adventist College is an entity of the NZPUC, and Ms Ros Burnett is now a member of the NZPUC Executive Committee.
